{"id":2589,"date":"2017-08-09T14:08:02","date_gmt":"2017-08-09T12:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/?p=2589"},"modified":"2024-01-10T13:35:59","modified_gmt":"2024-01-10T11:35:59","slug":"lng-blue-corridors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/en\/liquified-natural-gas\/lng-blue-corridors\/","title":{"rendered":"LNG Blue Corridors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Going unnoticed by the general public, a Europe-wide project has been taking shape since 2013 which aims to significantly reduce the emissions of HGV traffic: this is done through the creation of the so-called &#8220;LNG Blue Corridors&#8221;, a well-developed network of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/en\/liquified-natural-gas\/lng-filling-station\/\">LNG filling stations<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2583 size-full\" title=\"LNG Blue Corridors in Europe\" src=\"https:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/lng-blue-corridors-in-europa.jpg\" alt=\"LNG Blue Corridors in Europe\" width=\"637\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/lng-blue-corridors-in-europa.jpg 637w, https:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/lng-blue-corridors-in-europa-300x122.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 637px) 100vw, 637px\" \/><br \/>\nThe four LNG Blue Corridors in Europe<\/p>\n<p>The responsible European Natural &amp; Bio Gas Vehicle Organisation (NGVA), has given a positive interim assessment of the situation; the BeNeLux region, Sweden, Spain and Great Britain all currently have a well-developed network of LNG filling stations in place, with the number of such filling stations in Italy due to total twenty by the end of 2017. A second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valves-community.com\/en\/liquified-natural-gas\/lng-filling-station\/\">LNG filling station<\/a> has opened in Germany in April near to Berlin. The EU Commission is providing eight million euros of support for the constructin of LNG filling stations.<\/p>\n<p>Four corridors in Europe are defined by the NGVA in which LNG operated HGVs can drive with security of supplies: from Scandinavia to Southern Spain (SoNor), from Scandinavia to Portugal via Northern France (Atl-Blue), from Scotland to Italy (WE-Blue) and from Southern Spain to Italy via Northern France (Med-Blue). The aim by 2025 is for there to be at least one LNG filling station every 400 kilometres along the main European traffic routes.<\/p>\n<p>At present, there are 150 heavy goods vehicles running on LNG in Europe, with 43 transportation firms already involved in the project.
